Back from Istanbul, Turkey.

Istanbul, Istanbul!
The trip to the european-asian melting pot rocked. The iStanbul, Turkey meet-up was an invite-only event organized by iStockphoto and Getty Images. 30 contributor from iStockphoto were selected from getty images to join seminars about the topic ‘Reportage/Editorial’ held by major players of the editorial industry. The people behind Getty Images Reportage: Aidan Sullivan, VP Assignments, Getty Images and Andreas Gebhard, Manager from Picture Desk, Getty Images Americas together with the photographer and photojournalist Tom Stoddart gave us a four day long seminar about insights, portfolios, how-to, do`s and dont’s all around the editorial, reportage and photojournalism topics at Getty Images. It was that interesting to see and hear about the different approaches, techniques and contents between stock photography for istockphoto and editorial, travel, reportage at getty images….wow, wow and again wow…

The very best thing of course -as always- on such “come-together events” is meeting, talking and partying with new and old friends from nearly everywhere on our Small World.

Again: Thanks for the invitation to this unique iStockalypse! And thanks for the new, future possibilities for my photo work! Way to go…

As we of course didn`t sit around all day in conference rooms, we shot a lot of images all around amazing Istanbul. Completly different photos than most of the 30 iStockers which participated usually take for their iStockphoto portfolios. The results everybody participating could see on the closing party photo slideshow were just beautiful. I can`t wait to see some of those images at Getty Images soon…
